IFMA has announced the winners of the 2019 Awards of Excellence at its World Workplace® Conference and Expo in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. IFMA’s annual awards honor the stand-out achievements of association members, chapters, councils and communities.

“Those being honored today have not only endeavored to foster and fortify FM’s current stature in the workplace; but are also paving the way for our profession’s future,” said Chair of IFMA’s Global Board of Directors John Carrillo, CFM, IFMA Fellow. “Year after year, our professional community benefits from the ideas, innovations, resources and breakthroughs of every award nominee and recipient.”

We are pleased to announce that IFMA Chesapeake was recognized as the Small Chapter of the Year at the 2019 World Workplace Conference in Phoenix. Seventeen chapter members attended the conference this year and were honored to accept the award on behalf of the chapter.

The award recognizes the chapter of 200 members or less that excels in membership marketing, professional development and communications. Additionally, the chapter must meet or exceed membership expectations, be fiscally responsible, communicate to their membership a clear strategic plan and implement its action items. They must also maintain quality growth, be innovative in raising funds, and have a high percentage of members attending and participating in meetings.

We extend a big thank you to Past President Ed Fraczkowski who initiated the application process. Board members contributed content as well to round out the winning application. We look forward to another amazing year!
