Recap of Annual Holiday Gathering

Chapter members enjoyed another fantastic holiday gathering at Blue Hill Tavern, and everyone received a $25 gift certificate from the restaurant to return at a later date.
The chapter presented a $500 check to this year’s philanthropy partner, Happy Helpers for the Homeless. Members brought new, unwrapped toys for area children. The hat was passed and our generous members contributed another $919 to the 27-year-old charity, which serves the homeless in Baltimore in Glen Burnie. Executive Director Bobbi Coffman accepted the donations and thanked everyone for their generosity. The chapter thanks all members who contributed to this great cause that will help wishes come true at Christmas for many children in the area.
When you shop through www.smile.amazon.com, you may designate Happy Helpers for the Homeless as the charity to benefit from your purchases, and the money will benefit local homeless families.

Interesting Survey on What's Trending in the World of FM
In the lead-up to the 2019 International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Conference, CORT surveyed over 1,000 IFMA attendees to find out what’s currently trending in the world of facilities management, and what the future may hold. The majority of respondents were themselves facilities managers who represented a variety of industries.
The results show that profitability has increased in importance for most companies since the same survey was conducted in 2018, while concerns about employee retention decreased slightly from last year, which came in at third place in 2019. Meanwhile, for most companies, the greatest challenges to providing furnishings for employees was cost and meeting everyone’s needs.
To learn more about the results of this year’s survey, you can view the detailed findings below.
